BIP 110
A proposed one-year rule change to squeeze file storage out of Bitcoin blocks.

The fight over stuffing files into Bitcoin moved from node settings to the rulebook. BIP 110, proposed December 2025, would tighten the rules for one year: embedded data capped at 256 bytes per piece, the loopholes behind "inscriptions" closed. Coins already owned are untouched. The rules expire on their own. And it is a proposal, not a law — it binds no one until the network adopts it.
